Grammy winners Zakir Hussain, Rakesh Chaurasia, Bela Fleck, and Edgar Meyer will perform in India
The announcement
of the As We Speak India tour has sparked lots of excitement amongst music
lovers. This tour celebrates classical music and will feature Grammy-winning
icons such as Rakesh Chaurasia, Zakir Hussain, Edgar Meyer, and Bela Fleck.
The
one-of-a-kind quartet will be organized in Bengaluru (January 4), Mumbai
(January 10), Hyderabad (January 5), and New Delhi (January 11). The maestros have
collectively garnered 31 awards for their novelty and virtuosity, including two
for 'As We Speak' their 2023 album.
This
multi-city tour will be held in January 2025. It promises to leave the
audiences awe-struck with a seamless fusion of Western jazz and Indian
classical music.
Zakir
Hussain, table maestro expressed his excitement about getting back to his
homeland and getting a chance to perform with such talented musicians.
"This concert is a celebration of the universal language of music,
exploring the common ground between Indian classical and Western jazz."
The renowned
banjo legend, Bela Fleck, shared his enthusiasm for performing in India and his
fascination with Indian classical music. Double bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer is
very excited about exploring connections between Western jazz and Indian
classical, inspiring new conversations about the universal language of music.
Well-known
flutist Rakesh Chaurasia wants to inspire his fans and young musicians to
explore the rich musical traditions of India. Founder of Perfect Harmony
Productions, Abhinav Upadhyay, emphasized the significance of the tour,
stating, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the magic
of diversity."
