Martin Garrix debuted his new U2 collaboration Fireflies with The Edge during his Tomorrowland set, teasing the upcoming single ahead of its official release.

At Tomorrowland 2026, electronic music superstar Martin Garrix surprised fans by debuting a brand-new collaboration with U2 titled “Fireflies.” During his headline set in Antwerp, Belgium, he was joined on stage by legendary guitarist The Edge. The live premiere featured signature guitar melodies of Edge layered over Bono’s prerecorded vocals, creating one of the standout moments of the festival.

Following the performance, Garrix made the confirmation on social media that “Fireflies” will be released soon. Ahead of its official launch, he shared a pre-save link for fans. The announcement immediately sparked excitement among both rock and EDM audiences, given the long-standing creative relationship between the iconic Irish band and Garrix.

When they released Easter Lily in April, Bono told fans that the upcoming album would strike a different tone. “We are in the studio, still working towards a noisy, messy, ‘unreasonably colorful’ album to play LIVE … which is where U2 lives,” he said. “We still look to vivid rock & roll as an act of resistance against all this awfulness on our small screens.”

The partnership continues a collaboration that has grown over the past decade. U2 and Garrix previously teamed up for “We Are the People,” the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament’s official anthem. The Dutch DJ also produced U2’s “Your Song Saved My Life,” which was featured on the soundtrack of the animated film Sing 2. Beyond production, Bono has co-written many of the tracks of Martin Garrix, including “Catherina,” “Angels for Each Other,” and “Weightless.”

It is unclear whether “Fireflies” is a standalone single, an important part of the next studio album of Garrix, or an early preview of U2’s forthcoming record. The band released “Street of Dreams,” the lead single from its new album, scheduled for release later this year as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of U2.
