The album
has been praised a lot for its global collaborations, including well-known
Indian artists like Ajay Prasanna, Asha Puthli, Asha Bhosle, Anoushka Shankar,
Ayaan Ali Bangash, and Amaan Ali Bangash. Featuring standout singles such as
The Manifesto " and " Orange County/The Hardest Thing and The Happy
Dictator, the record continues the legacy of Gorillaz of pushing cultural and
sonic boundaries.
“It has been and remains a dream of mine to bring Gorillaz in all its
technicolour glory to India,” said Damon Albarn. “It’s just the beginning, and
I truly look forward to the experience.”
Jamie Hewlett added, “Our dream has always been to do a tour of India. We’re
very excited about returning to play shows in Mumbai and Bengaluru.”
Since their formation, Gorillaz have delivered timeless hits which include
Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc., and On Melancholy Hill. For fans, their debut
in India marks a significant moment, with Albarn leading a full live band
alongside guest performers, potentially including their Indian collaborators.
For Mastercard cardholders, pre-sale tickets will be available from April 13 to
April 18, 2026, via the District app, followed by general ticket sales that
will start from April 18 at 2 PM IST.
