The experience features Ustad Shujaat Husain Khan, one of India's finest sitar players, followed by iconic ghazal exponent Talat Aziz, creating a unique meeting of instrumental brilliance and soulful vocals. The performance celebrates melody, poetry and artistry, moving between the expressive world of Hindustani classical music and the emotional depth of ghazals. Ustad Shujaat Khan

Ustad Shujaat Khan

Ustad Shujaat Husain Khan is an internationally acclaimed sitar virtuoso and one of the most distinguished representatives of the Imdadkhani gharana of Hindustani classical music. Born into a celebrated musical family, he received his training from his father, the legendary sitar maestro Ustad Vilayat Khan, and developed a deeply expressive approach to the instrument. He is particularly renowned for his gayaki ang style of sitar playing, which closely imitates the nuances, phrasing and emotional subtleties of the human voice. Over the course of his career, he has recorded more than 100 albums and collaborated with musicians across classical, world and contemporary music. He has also been nominated for a Grammy Award, further reflecting his international stature.

Talat Aziz

Talat Aziz

Talat Aziz is one of India's most celebrated ghazal singers, known for his warm, soulful voice and elegant interpretation of Urdu poetry. Born into a musical family, he received training in Hindustani classical music and began his professional career in the 1970s, eventually becoming one of the most recognisable voices in the Indian ghazal tradition. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Talat Aziz has performed extensively in India and around the world, building a repertoire of memorable ghazals that combine poetic depth with melodic beauty. His distinctive vocal style and ability to bring emotion and nuance to Urdu poetry have made him a beloved figure among generations of ghazal listeners.
