Mahalaxmi Iyer is one of India's prominent playback singers, known for her expressive voice and versatility across multiple musical genres. She has sung more than 5,000 songs in Hindi and several regional languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi and Punjabi. Her repertoire spans Bollywood, ghazals, devotional music, Sufi, fusion and other contemporary styles. She has collaborated with leading composers and musicians including A. R.
